Click contracts: cost-per-page print support
Print support contracts for organisations: separate mono and colour metering, agreed toner, service parts, maintenance and repairs. Equipment rental and printed-page charges are separate.
Support charged against agreed print volumes
A click contract links support charges to printed-page volumes. It is one form of print outsourcing for an agreed fleet and service scope: Masterprint supports the devices; paper provision and device access are specified in the proposal. It does not transfer every printing or document-management process to a contractor.
What the agreed click includes
Toner, service parts, scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs. The proposal specifies covered devices and work boundaries. A replacement MFP during repairs is provided on agreed terms for the relevant corporate support arrangement; it does not automatically apply to a one-off repair.
Rental and printed pages are separate charges
Equipment can be purchased, rented or supplied on a rent-to-own arrangement. Rental charges do not replace printed-page charges. Compare the same period, volumes and service scope; do not add toner or repairs again when they are already included in the click.
Metering monochrome and colour pages
Mono and colour pages are metered separately at agreed rates. Meter readings and submission method, billing period, A3/A4 and duplex rules must be agreed. Any minimum volumes or fixed payments are stated in the proposal rather than assumed. A sheet of paper and an imaged side are not always one billing unit.
Items to agree separately
Do not assume paper, equipment purchase or rental, software licences and renewals, logistics or additional work are included unless stated. Remote monitoring depends on access. Coverage, response times and support boundaries are agreed for the actual fleet; no universal SLA or round-the-clock service is promised here.
Information for a proposal
Share the current printing requirements with a manager. If statistics are missing, discuss a free fleet assessment and, if needed, a month of software-based volume collection.
